Just wondering how close to a BA served airport you live and how you travel to it?

EZE is mine and the only sensible way of getting to it is by taxi which takes 2 hours 15 mins if the traffic is running smoothly. Cost is about 800 pesos which is 85.

Fun thread idea.

LHR is mine. I take the railair bus from Reading which costs 15 single/25 return. Of course I have to get to Reading first.

Glasgow.
7 miles by road.
Takes 15-20 mins by taxi, costing 12.
Sometimes take the bus and train, which takes an hour and costs about 2.
Or a more expensive (faster) bus and train, taking about half an hour and costs 8.
Or sometimes drive.

Lgw which is 25 mins away by car or train.... Almost worth the trip to have a cup of coffee with some of the lovely staff..... Particularly as they don't or can't post here any more.!

Historically I could of said NQY, PLH or BRS.

Now it's a toss up between LGW & LHR, both of which are shocking to get too with wife and baby and involve hours traveling, 4-5 hours by car or 4-5 hours by train with connections.

Either way it's increasingly difficult to fly BA.

I'm even considering flying NQY-MAN on BE staying at the radisson and starting trips MAN-LHR-xxx.

LIN. 15 minutes far from home. I usually ask someone for a lift or take the bus to get there. Very easy to reach, potentially I could even walk.

40 minutes and 35 using Suicide Cabs of SW19.

When in LA, usually fix it so I'm returning a hire car to either Avis or Hertz, usually Avis. Otherwise, via Town Car, usually Music Express, which costs $$$$s but someone else is paying.

EDI.

About 20 minutes away by car which I usually take and leave it there as it would take way too long using public transport with 2 bus journeys having to go via the City Centre.

Saying that I might take the Tram once it goes operational next year just for the sheer sake of it. 7.50 one way I believe.

The Airport Bus (No.100) is a little cheaper at 3.50 single or 6 return leaving from Waverley Bridge. A number 35 from the City also takes you there and is 1.50 single.

That's handy.

I've cycled to/from GLA a few times......when I used to stay there obviously.

SFO, 8 miles as the crow flies but due to water in the way, it is about 25 miles in a hire car (lincoln town car usual) at $80-85/one way. Takes 30-90 minutes depending on traffic.

Unfortunately I won't fly BA anytime soon as there isn't a single W/J/F seat from SFO via Avios available in the next 5 months.

ORD - 17 miles. "L" (Blue line) if it's rush hour.... 40 minutes, as quick as 17 minutes when there isn't traffic (by taxi).

Cost: USD2.50 to/USD5.00 from ORD via "L", USD42.00 via taxi.
