Pleasantly surprised with award flight avalibility

Was very surprised to see quite abit of avalibility for jfk in december, just thinking about doing. Lhr - jfk non stop, 80,000 avios and a AMEX 2-4-1 for two club world tickets in late december. Quite a few tickets for WTP and club, buy i guess this is because of the huge amount of flights a day.

Using the "explore" tool, it looks like there is J availability LHR-JFK on 25/31 days in December, and JFK-LHR on 23/31 days. I'd say that meets the OP's statement of "quite a bit of availability", no?

Expect availability between Xmas and New Year not before Xmas or immediately after New Year when the "rush" is on

The reward map is completely useless IMO.

It shows you availability for destinations, that when you follow through don't exist, or it shows an single flight when you want 2, or shows a one way when you want a return. Completely irritating.

I just did 2 one-way bookings as they showed no return availability.
It's worth checking
