Yes, I think so. As Wikipedia puts it:-
British Airtours [a wholly owned subsidiary of then state-owned British Airways] adopted the Caledonian Airways name when the newly privatised British Airways completed the acquisition of the rival British Caledonian (BCal) in April 1988. Caledonian Airways was eventually sold to UK tour operator Inspirations in 1995, marking BA's exit from the mainstream inclusive tour (IT) market. In 1999, Thomas Cook acquired Inspirations and merged Caledonian Airways with Flying Colours to form JMC Air Services, a forerunner of the UK arm of the present day Thomas Cook Airlines.
Some will also recognise Flying Colours as the airline with which BA worked to operate low-yield Caribbean routes from LGW via a company called AML. This venture is perhaps most talked about here as the original BA operator of 10-abreast 777s, although that experiment was disbanded and those aircraft converted to 9-abreast. Only now, with the general industry direction being 10-abreast, is BA moving back to that configuration.

Maybe some of it as well as other IAG brands. Not sure Condor would fit into BA.

I remember flying on a chartered British Airtours Boeing 737 flight from Manchester to Los Angeles in 1983 . That was a loooooong flight. Had to stop in Bangor to refuel if i recall.

Looking at Wiki, the range of a B737-200 is 3044 miles. The distance from MAN to Bangor is 2951 miles. So, just about possible.

Just checked with my cousin who was with me (my memory has faded a bit) and he said we stopped in Newark, not Bangor. Even more confused now because of the range???

Not with the standard north atlantic headwinds and legal reserves.

Or without ETOPS authority - which the KT 737 did not have. I had to be either a 707 or 757 and I think 1983 was too early for the -e4 ETOPS 757s.

Yeah, I would have opened my eyes wide too. Looks a bit like my Fisher Price plane I had when I was a kid...

It would have been a Tristar or B707 but Newark seems doubtful.

As a London-based flyer I'd almost forgotten it still exists, but yes, it doesn't look good.
