Lovely service from the SFO angel

Lovely lounge angel D informing me that I will become Gold overnight and that I should feel free to use the First Class Lounge in LHR tomorrow before my connection to AMS instead of GC.

First class service!

That's the SFO staff for you. They're excellent.

Unfortunately this is the grim reality that the OP will face!

Oh you haters.

No issues at all. He tapped for two seconds on my computer and welcomed me as a new Gold member.

When BA gets it right, it is very good.

Call me a cynic but there's nothing like the raising of expectations to make the later fall that much harder

Welcome Stu ! Well done BA, credit when it's due!

Was lucky enough to be in the BA SFO First lounge last week. Team were brilliant with us and were always checking we had everything we needed for our 19 month old boy.

Entire BA team we came into contact with were superb. At check-in the guy serving us wished my wife a happy birthday and wrote this on her boarding card. At the desk at the lounge the girl immediately showed my wife to the shower room as in her opinion this would be far easier for using for nappy changes.

Tables were regularly cleared and food and drink regularly re-stocked. The girl doing this seemed genuinely grateful when thanked for this.

The staff took the time to interact with our boy and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. From seeing and hearing them chat and interact with each other there does seem to be a great team spirit amongst them.

A really pleasant place to spend a few hours in.

*Edit* - Just to add, on our way out to SFO the car seat for our child didn't make it. A text was sent to me from BA before we'd landed. The girl dealing with us at the BA info. desk seemed genuinely concerned about this. She did make a couple of phone calls just to confirm it definitely hadn't made it., offered sincere apologies, and then gave us a pre-paid Visa with $300 on it.

Congratulations on becoming a GCH . I had been a bit unsure why you were a silver when you always seemed to be travelling.

One unadvertised benefit is that whenever you come to a queue at LHR you can simply push your way to the front waving your card. There are other 'secret' perks but I can't disclose them in public

Haha KARFA! Of course, the shiny Gold card has been obtained on my client's pennies! But that's fine.

I am indeed travelling a lot at the moment. AMS tonight, ABZ tomorrow and DUB on Thursday.

I aim to do a TR of my SFO trip. As a first time CW traveller, I was very impressed!

Congratulations on becoming Gold stu1985

There always seems to be consistently good reports about the SFO Lounge staff. Hopefully one day I will be able to sample it at some point.

I've been twice, once in 1994 and also in 2011 (Click on the 1st photo to start a slideshow)

It was part of a West Coast holiday. Loved the place all over again.

The popular choice for many a tourist and loads of places off the beaten track too. BingBongBoy did a fab TR a while ago.

Good to hear that.

Only seen photos of the F/J Lounges there and nice views of the aircraft too I believe

Enjoy your flight and here's hoping you get a nice crew
