Bronze goes fast-track
Apologies if this has been posted already but didn't find anything.
'Bronze tier level members of British Airways' frequent flier programme can now take advantage of fast-track priority boarding, it was announced today'.

There goes yet another advantage to being Silver. If I fly without bags then the only real benefit left (over Bronze) is the lounge access.
Also, I dread to think how busy the boarding queue will be on some flights now. The 'fast track' queue will probably be longer than the normal queue!

Wonder how long this will take to filter to the outstations and how many will be denied in the meantime, given how some already have issues with letting silvers use priority boarding!

I suppose it is designed to encourage the casual flyer who does maybe one LH return each year. For example, I earned 220 TP flying WTP this summer, however all my SH flights in Europe are with Easyjet. So now I might be encouraged to shift my European flights over to BA if Bronze is slightly more appealing.

They are trying to encourage the leisure flyer to spend that little bit more for a perceived benefit each year.

Its not a big deal for premium pax, however they should board First then club, families, fast track then economy. As silver/gold can be annoying to those in F/J compared to the fast trackers further back, as long as you board before your cabin you should be happy with Fast Track.

Its Families then, F & J and fast track all at the same time normally. Fast track boarding seems to be called all at once, no gold then silver.

If Im at an outstation, more often than not, the fast track mugs will already be lined up some 15 minutes or so before boarding at the gate. Sometimes as many as 30 - 40 lined up for boarding.
The normal line will usually be empty.
