Why are you invisible on the BA Board ? (and FT)

Just thinking about it I can see some reasons why, i.e. you can look at others profiles without your name showing up, maybe there are work reasons?

It seems to me that there are far more regular 'invisible' posters on the BA Board now than there used to be (some folks have visibly changed their profile).

Why are you 'invisible' if I may ask ?

Seems like us visible posters are in the minority :( and I want my gang to be bigger than yours :p;);)

(Just kidding on that last part)

I must be missing something, cos I can't see the invisible posters!

At the moment, of all our members logged into FT and currently viewing the BA forum, 6% are 'invisible'.

I am invisible as I like to visit other sections of flyertalk. So whilst I am looking at BA, I am also reading the trip reports. I am not doing so well on reading the reports over the past few months. hopefully I will get more time soon. There are some really good ones, like Hiddy Moomba and BBB. (I have missed people off, sorry, I enjoy them all) Sometimes the BA board gets a little excitable during full moons etc. Its easier to hide away in the shadows.

I like to hide because I'm just a leisure flyer.

So I guess that means they are visible to the mods?

Prospero Jul 19, 2013 3:51 pm

Actually, its possible to calculate for yourself. The number of online users is listed at the bottom of the forum above the list of "visible" users.

But yes, mods are given powers of x-ray vision. Well, green and red lights is about it. Here's an idea of what we see.

As it is next to the Hazard Warning Triangle, which alerts a mod if you are not happy with a post/poster, I'd assume if a Mod pressed it they would just just be contacting themselves which would be pointless?

If you click on a red triangle you get a blank message field to send to them as to why you may not be happy so that's probably why it is there. (A Pure guess.......:p)

I only dared press it once. Up popped a live feed of eightblack semi clothed in his basement. From what I could make out he had an EK wine list in one hand and a block of Appenzeller in the other. The trauma was too much for me and I've never pressed the button since :)
