Tracking new fleet arrivals in 2013
Just done the Bowing Everett tour today and saw 2 BA 787-800's all liveried up and ready to go, plus a BA 777-300 in the final stages of assembly.
In addition, the only currently assembled 787-900 completed and dressed in Boeing colours just a few planes down from BA's 787-800s. |
Nice! Was that the public tour or invitation? I ask since I've done the VIP invitation tour, but keen on doing the public one next month when in SEA.

Here's a question, will the next 773 be delivered with the refreshed CW cabin? Seems odd not to...

Not sure what else. The routes I believe are: HKG - the BA27/28 returns to a 777-300 SYD - the BA15/16 remains a 777-300 GIG - new route for a 777-300 This gives a schedule that could roughly look like: Day 1:LHR-GIG Day 1: GIG-LHR arr Day 2 Day 2: LHR-SIN arr Day 3 Day 3: SIN - SYD arr Day 4 Day 4: SYD-SIN-LHR arr Day 5 Day 5: LHR-NRT* arr Day 6 Day 6: NRT*-LHR Day 6: LHR-HKG arr Day 7 Day 7: HKG-LHR arr Day 8 (which would be day 1 to go out again) * I have used NRT here but could be PVG, JFK or plenty of other destinations would fit. So the bottom line is 1 more destination and probably not every day as they generally like a day or 2 downtime for each frame. My guess would be somewhere for 5 days/week but maybe someone else can see from other sources. FD. |

I haven't looked comprehensively at all the dates in the season, but as far as I can see HKG is usually going to be a 772. The 77W seems to be scheduled only on a couple of days a week.
This would make some sense: 12F (minor reduction) and 48J (again a minor reduction) but the big thing is only 127Y - a huge reduction and Y is very hard to fill on that route.... Shame though as the 777-300 does feel more spacious it has to be said... FD. |
it was just the public tour, nice enough - bit of Boeing marketing video to start, a bus trip across the field to the hangar and a view from overhead platforms of the 747-8 (all freighters), 777 & 787 lines, it is obviously aimed more at the novice tourist end of the market than the FT'er end :)

Petrus, it was the public tour, well worth doing.

BJC scheduled to operate on 7th for the first time.
BJD still in Seattle awaiting delivery. |
How many hours simulator time would a BA pilot do before flying the 787 for the first time? Roughly how many pilots would they have at the moment certfied on it?
