BA FLEET: NEW AIRCRAFT ARRIVALS AND RETIREMENTS WIKI

BA are in the mid-stages of a large fleet renewal programme with over 100 new aircraft on order for delivery in the 2010s. The new aircraft have enabled BA to retire the 737 and 767 fleets and will eventually allow the retirement of the 747 fleet plus the addition of new routes, both shorthaul and longhaul. It will see the start of the shorthaul fleet replacement with the latest A320neo family. BA have not yet announced a replacement aircraft for the 777s but it is likely that some of the older 772s will be retired and replaced within the next decade too.

This renewal programme, which is being complemented with a cabin refresh for some of the older aircraft, will see the following fleet in 2021.

Notes:-
  1. Total hours is not a definitive guide to airframe age / remaining life / time to next check.
  2. The main list remains in hours order despite the reporting date no longer being uniformly 31 December of each year. The chronological order of delivery is almost exactly the same as the alphabetical order of registration.
  3. There have been significant changes to the original retirement plan. All dates must be regarded as subject to change. Current planned retirement dates courtesy of TCX69. Please check the wikipost for any available up-to-date information.
  4. All 744s remaining in service have New First.
