This thread gives the current catering options (2013, 2014, & 2015) for the Galleries Club (GC) lounges in LHR, of which there are three in Terminal 5 (T5A North & South, and T5B). I'm back where I belong today.

The Coq au Vin on offer is actually okay. The stroganoff is a bit strange with fava beans, but otherwise tasty. Nice to see a little bit of change down here in the depths.

Did they have the smokey BBQ beef on? That's a really tasty dish for GC in my opinion.

Nice to see some change again! There is nothing I don't want more than another portion of the world's most bland pasta (or the chili con carne)!

The Primervera penne pasta has been replaced by the Marinara Penne pasta which I am yet to try, but the BBQ beef has replaced the Chilli con carne for the time being.......most probably until the end Jan 16.

I'm not changing post 1 just yet, until I've seen some more rotations, but this is what is out today:

So we have on the hot food buffet:

Jacket potatoes
Baked beans
Steamed rice
Chilli con carne
Coq au vin
White bean and mushroom stroganoff
Penne pasta peperonata

plus the 2 soups (spiced roast vegetable and courgette pea pesto).

I seem to recall that its around 6PM they bring out the dinner?

It is BIZARRE that in the GC for the afternoon tea CE band they have afternoon tea...you get onboard MORE afternoon tea! This stuff isn't even funny.

Who thinks of this cr@p? If paying for CE wasn't already such a joke.

I have no problem that people want to eat it onboard but why force it on the rest of us? Isn't the lounge offering enough? Can we not have a decent cold plate or hot meal, if it is banded that way the rest of the day?

Worse for me is that the last time I was in GC at Afternoon Tea time ALL of the sandwiches were slathered in mayonnaise. Yech! Some cheese and crackers would at least be a nice alternative. Or at least a sandwich without mayonnaise. Even a PB&J would be an improvement.

Catering trick to save money. The CE sandwiches probably cost under 40p.

Put your comments in writing, but don't forget the cheque... maybe then it will change

Was rather amusing watching a fellow pax in GC North become annoyed with the constant bacon rolls/ egg and cheese rolls. He obviously decided he had enough and got 4 egg and cheese rolls with two bacon rolls, proceeded to empty the rolls' contents, bin the rolls then scramble his own egg and placing the bacon on top! Have to say that my sympathies lay with him haha!

I will take ANYTHING other than the current offering! Sausages would do brilliantly

Just anything without carbs really!

Then I think the sausages loaded with more flour than meat would not satisfy your cravings.
