I quite like it! I don't have it regularly as it is rather rich but it is very flavourful.

I wish that the "rest of the day" options had been improved more significantly, but credit where credit is due and I must say that the breakfast options feel like a major improvement. I had the "egg royale" (singular) yesterday and it was actually sort of ok (the hollandaise is still quite synthetic and a bit mayonnaisy just as at LHR but in a way, they put less of it so you don't notice as much! ) and the waffles (which I did not have) looked ok as well.

Now if BA could bring in one of the signature sandwiches (like the club or burger) and one of the signature salads (like the current LHR duck egg or one of the other ones which rotate there) I would say that the LGW F lounge would have had a significant catering upgrade throughout the day.

There were two bottles of LPGS in there today! What immaculate timing for my first and probably only visit to this lounge for a while.

Nice! Indeed, somehow, the LGW F lounge seems to still occasionally get a great bottle while they seem rarer than ever at LHR GF. I wouldn't mind a look at their cellar to see what else they might be hiding!!

In the F lounge? I have never seen it before (nor, should I add, would I want to!)

Same comment as orbitmic, I have never seen monopole in any lounge including the LGW FLounge which I was in several times in 2014.

That seems to have been a New Year treat, it's now back to Taittinger for both white and rosé. I thought I would post just in case someone was thinking a cheeky RFS to AMS....

Likewise I have never seen Monopole in that Lounge - I heard tell that the whole thing is being expanded in 2015.

I am by no means a long time visitor to BA lounges but have never seen Monopole anywhere. I do believe the comment was in jest, tho'

LGW F is small enough that dropping in the odd LPGS bottle is manageable. I know people report the place as getting crowded from time to time, and am certainly happy to hear it may be expanding again, but it's small and cozy compared to the LHR lounges and has lost all the OW traffic since the times when AA had its base there. I posted a pic of an LPGS bottle at the end of August from this lounge, so it does seem to make appearances there every so often. With it and the improved food I will happily be back if the occasion arises again in summer time. With my trusted carry-on even the ride from London Bridge was perfectly manageable, better than the Piccadilly line for sure, I was overall happy with how my trip went and will look forward to a repeat experience.

OT - indeed the London Bridge trip was always very good (30 minutes, overground, possible to sit at most hours) but I thought that this was being mostly discontinued bar extremely few remaining services due to new work on that line for the next two years at least?

No doubt, you'll know better than me for sure. I know in summer there were works on other stations on the Thameslink line and not all stops were accessible. I don't know if the train service itself is reduced, or if the stops are fewer and you have to go to other stations. Hopefully it will be the latter and I can ride to Farringdon or St Pancras and catch the train there instead.

I think the systematic stop ceased on 20 December. It does indeed continue stopping at other stations (St Pancras, Farringdon, Blackfriars etc) and I think that there are also extra trains to Elephant and Castle. Sadly, neither is as convenient to me as I normally do the uber-frequent Charing Cross-LB and then usually have a same platform change.

Am I correct that there is no Full English breakfast available in the Gatwick First lounge ? If so, any recommendations for breakfast either before or after security? BTW I'm staying at the Sofitel, but I'm too mean to pay their price for fried eggs, sausage, bacon and a couple of slices of toast .
