Another question, sorry: Which aircraft is/are 77P?
Just checked. 77X / 77P - 219 seater; A-mkt.

So I guess 77X is for non-refurbished & 77P is for refurbished.

You mean my guess on the other thread was correct?

Can we turn this thread into a consolidated "what codes do BA use for aircraft" thread?

Globaliser Nov 26, 2013 6:41 am

As internal codes are now not normally publicly displayed following the completion of the change to FLY, this post will no longer be updated. See the 744 retirements tracker for more up-to-date information.

Any idea on the difference between 47B and 74K?

morges1 Jan 14, 2014 3:41 am

Globalizer, that's really informative.

If we exclude BNLL, there are 24 mid-J and 26 hi-J. ALL hi-J have NF, so you know that on a hi-J route, unless there is a last minute aircraft change to a mid-J, it will always be NF. Except for CIVA and CIVC, the other 9 OFs are all BNLxs.

ClubClassCowboy Jan 14, 2014 5:54 am

Could that list go in the forum sticky?

Globaliser Jan 17, 2014 6:46 am

The 744 list has now been updated to reflect G-BNLM's departure to VCV in December, and G-BNLR's WFU today.

Current overall figures:-
High-J (all NF): 26 aircraft
Mid-J NF: 13 aircraft
Mid-J OF: 11 aircraft

These figures include G-BNLL, as she remains part of the active fleet even if she would require repair before flight.

I'm afraid I have no idea what the difference is between a 47B and a 74K - all I have is the lists kindly provided by TCX69.

It came from this intriguing site!

Lucky it was not called M2A. Never heard about it till I watched an old episode of '8 out of 10 cats'.

perhaps Jumbodriver could correct me, but I believe it is to do with the Engine rating. The 747s use either G or H rated RB211s.

Globalizer,

Let's add NF to the hi-Js and then we can avoid new threads on "are there any hi-Js with OF?" in future!!

High-J NF: 26 aircraft
Mid-J NF: 13 aircraft
Mid-J OF: 11 aircraft

Something to do with this perhaps?

Be interested to know which aircraft are fitted with the retrofitted aircraft, and the difference that makes to their range.

Some apparently are still fitted with this. :D

Happy spot the difference.

I don't know how accurate G-INFO is, but looking at the information for BYGA-G (mixture of 74K and 47B) shows all using four RB211-524G2-19; and CIVR, CIVS and CIVV-Z (likewise a mixture of 74K and 47B) shows a pretty random mix of those and RB211-524G2-T-19s. The latter may be the upgraded hybrid engines? But in any event, there's no obvious pattern as between 74Ks and 47Bs.

Flying on a A319 (M9A) on Sunday to VCE.

I've been trying unsuccessfully to find images of the interior. Have they been refurbished to same interior/seats as the main short haul airbus fleet?

Thanks
