Agree with you regarding smart, never understand people who have to wear a suit or uniform and try to wear it is casually as they can get away with.
I am probably the last of my generation who goes out for the evening in jacket, shirt and tie (and trousers of course).

Shoes are another obsession of mine.

I hope you have not upset your bears with your comment re Corporals, bears are ambitious.

But, thankfully, I still have age on my side...

You can be attractive at any age. Look at Gary Lineker and he's 52, and Joan Collins who's 79.

Hopefully not. No use having Adonis at the controls if he does not know where the Gear Down lever is

Saying that the FO on my flight back from MAD last week was very handsome

Indeed....I'm 56.

As far as I know airlines used to only recruit female cabin crew who were of a certain weight to height ratio, single and pretty. Pilots with Home Counties accents were favoured and having a handlebar moustache also helped.

Either way I think this is very good for BA to have aesthetically pleasing crew but brains over beauty when it comes to aircraft safety.

Can't say I've noticed. I've had a few female captains on the ABZ - LHR route, and CC seems to be a mix too.

Hiddy I am the same age. I didn't realise we had so much in common

As to the OP's point, certainly I have noticed (totally unscientifically) that many crew on European flights are male. In keeping, loosely, with the theme of this thread I recall escorting my mother on LGW to NAP on her 80th birthday. The purser, when apprised of this, became(I think I am allowed to say this) slightly stereotypical and engaged her in a long conversation about how great her face looked and what moisturiser she used. I think she found the experience educational.

From today, going back 365 days, I have taken upwards of 5 or 6 Domestic UK flights so I know its not infatuation and I also don't know whether they are all MF or Euro.

Anyone else noticed this trend? Is this good? I am really worried that I might not pay attention to the important safety information during the video.

I think it may just be coincidence but if you mostly fly on the Manchester route, the crews are generally younger because most are relatively new to BA and part of the new Mixed Fleet.

There are definitely far more female crew than males on E/F. I am not sure about M/F, it could be more 50/50 but it is just coincidence if you have seen more male crews.

Or it could be that the Manchester night life attracts some of the younger male crew to bid for the Manchester route.
