How to find fare class availability without asking other people to do it:

Example, BA98 YYZ-LHR March 1st.

                Code:
                F/9 A/9
                J/9 C/9 D/9 R/9 I/9
                Y/9 B/9 H/9 K/9 M/9 L/9 V/9 S/9 Q/9 G/9 N/9 O/9
                W/9 E/9 T/9 N/9
                Credit: angatol

If you do decide to ask, please state the date and origin/departure airport codes, not just the flight number.

                Help to Check Seat / Load / Flight / Availability | 2013

As regular readers will have noticed there are an increasing number of threads asking for seat and flight availability details. To keep these in one place - and also to provide some self help - we have created this master thread.

How to look for seat and flight availability?

www.ba.com can help. Using flight explorer you can see what 'fare bucket' is currently being sold and if less than 9 seats are left this will also be noted. If you have status or are travelling on a qualifying ticket MMB will also show you the seat map for your flights.

www.expertflyer.com. A subscription web-based service that gives you access to the full inventory for flights and also allows you to access seats maps for many airlines (including BA up to T-24). One point of note: it uses US Point of Sale availability which can and often does vary from UK availability especially on long routes (e.g. I is available in the US but only C in the UK)

www.kvstool.com. This offers much more flexibility on point of sale and the GDS (Global Distribution System) you can access, but does require a download to your PC.

There are other tools e.g. www.seatcounter.com but I don't have experience of using those.

Tried the flightstats website but its not displaying the flight info I need?

So, I'd be grateful if someone could check the loads on BA10 BKK to LHR 23rd Jan.

                              thanks

                              Availability Check

Could someone do a check for the following flights please to see what fare buckets are left:

                              BA8741 LCY-CMF 6th April 2013
                              BA8742 CMF-LCY 13th April 2013

Hoping to book on Avios. Just want to see if there's anything available.

                              Thanks

Logging into BA and checking availability to book 1 Avios seat either in economy or Business returns no availability - looks like a difficult route for redemptions - 1st seat I can see after your date is 14th December!

Don't always trust those figures as my flight the other day was packed yet in the couple of hours beforehand, flghtStats was reporting quite a few empty seats.
Even moved seat on my next flight as I don't want to end up stuck somewhere with next to no access to my bags, toilets etc (it basically lists my MIA flight as totally wide open but I bet 200 people suddenly decide they need to fly out of MIA that night)

Agree with xenole, not very reliable, I also was hoping for a quiet flight in December as shown on flight stats and on boarding..OMG..packed

Could someone kindly check what availability is like for BA 285 LHR - SFO on Sun 03 Feb (Dep: 11:15 / Arr: 14:10.) I'm after one seat in CW or F.

I've checked flightstats.com, however the search results are coming up with BA 287 (later in the day) as the only direct option.

                              Thanks ^

Thanks. Just re-ran the search on Flightstats, and again BA 285 didn't show up, only BA 287.

The flight looks pretty full... At least in CW back.

You sure you're looking in the right time zone? I chose from 6am.

Is the "Time" field set to "Current time"? You'll need to change it to "6am or later" to see the earlier BA285
