BA to receive first 787 in May 2013

Keith Williams delivered a speech at the UK Aviation Club today, where he confirmed BA will receive its first 787 in May 2013, plus three more that year.
Their first A380 will be delivered in July 2013.

Thought that the A380 had been pushed back further into 2013 ?

Can we get a savings on fuel surcharge since the 787 is so fuel efficient? @:-)

Not sure about that thread. I didn't go to the AvClub yesterday myself, but some of my colleagues were there. That's what he said.

I was there, and I can confirm that he said exactly what BBA had reported; I too had seen the thread reporting A380s in Q4, but can only assume that the CEO has more up-to-date knowledge! Perhaps this engineering solution will be quicker than anticipated.

His statement was that they would both be fully incorporated into Winter 2013 schedules - I would assume that means you would see A380s on random routes as training flights before that time, such as Paris was used for the 777 introduction.

This will likely be cancelled out by the "big windows surcharge" which BA will likely introduce for the 787.

Not to mention the "extra Oxygen supplement" as they will pressurise the cabin more.

Think they are planning to operate the shake down flights on LHR-NQY and will use it to launch the new twice daily service

Whilst we are on this subject, can someone try to explain to me the "evolution of the current seat"

http://www.ausbt.com.au/british-airw...ws-articleleft

I saw this yesterday and didnt quite understand, I dont like the words enhanced as it all ends up worse. It could be me dealing with other matters over the past couple of days.
