On flights to the US in Nov I received Highland Spring outbound, Crystal Geysers back from the US

On flights to DXB in Dec, I received Highland Spring both sectors

Complaining about tge taste of bottled water is the bed DYKWIA behaviour I've seen on here yet! Great scenes!

We just like whinging about the trivia because it's borderline comical. Not really DYKWIA to me, just daftly amusing.

However on a serious note some bottled water tastes very different from others, although I have not had one that I disliked on BA yet.

I don't really like the Crystal Geyser, but considering the fuel costs of transporting bottled water to the US (or elsewhere) for the return trip, I think it is only reasonable that BA should get something available locally. Many people around me would think that I don't think nearly enough about the environment and I certainly don't sacrifice travelling for 'carbon' reasons because I believe in face to face interaction for work, but transporting water for the sake of having a specific brand on return trips would be beyond my own border of 'green consciousness' as well as within what I would personally consider the realm of reasonable cost-cutting measures on the airline's part.

Ok ... I'll bite this time.

If it has come across as the height of DYKWIA behaviour, that was not my intention at all. I am far from a DYKWIA, but then again, you do not know me, so the point is moot.

It was just a general supplier question, and a personal preference for and in support of British water on BA aircraft.

Cheers.

Tap water if available
Bad tap
London
New York

Good tap
Chicago ( or maybe I was dehydrated )

Bottled

Good
Highland Spring, Tesco Highland water, Vittel, Evian ( at a push)

Bad
Poland Spring, Volvic, pseudo spring water such as Dasani,
Finally (drum roll please)
The bottled water at T5C machine near gate 66- 1.60 for a small bottle, yukkkk and extortionate

By no means a comprehensive list, but sticking to my personal experience
NB. I drink filtered London tap at home - it still sucks

You may also see Crystal Geyser on flights TO the US. Bottles water that has been catered in the US and not used on the flight to the UK is re-packed and used for flights back to the US.

Galley gossip from yesterday's BOM-LHR: a Scottish CC member said that he'd heard that Highland Spring is coming to an end on BA entirely and will be replaced by what he described as a Canadian brand (but possibly meant Crystal Geyser?). Him being Scottish, he was unhappy about this!
