We almost did that once, didn't we ? Life got in the way I believe... That and I met my own private French storm cloud.

April is 'THE' month, right ? Something nice and harmless...

I will drive...

Timbo baggins, search for the BB code and copy it in here.

Henky, unbelievable images, i would run away if i saw storm cells like that. Taking another look at that indonesian 'cloudscape' gives me goosebumps. It might not be HD but it is pic of the year for me. Utterly stunning and a true reminder that we live in epic days when we can soar above and look down at such incredible natural things (for want of a better word). I used to love the flight into GCM in summer, guaranteed some seriously nice light shows at night as it goes off constantly during the summer months at night. Flash flash flash everywhere you look with breaks in the cloud to the moon shimmering on the caribbean below. Bbboooo to all the shade closers at night!

Thanks. It is my iPhone wallpaper and I feel like you do. Sheer luck I caught it with enough light to see the details of the cloudscape. Could not run away from this one.

I fell in love with clouds on this route, many years ago....

I pulled the word cloudscape out my hat, thought i was making it up! Going off topic and following 22,000 other readers but thanks for that link. Beware the zit squeezers! Those pictures are superb and apart from the wispy clouds near the towering clouds does remind me of the caribbean a little bit. Humid parts of the world i suppose! Thanks again henky!

Here are some shots as we approached Singapore on the 23rd. Looked like islands of clouds in a sea of mist / other clouds. Never seen it before.

It was pretty.

Thanks! This was at Nijo castle in Kyoto, Japan. It was taken right before and after some sprinkles.

Ok, I will put it on my 'to go' list. Figured it was Japan. ^

Seriously pretty.

Maybe next Thursday OW will have a sale to Japan.

Looks like typical SW Monsoon weather. Embeded and isolated towering cumulus, later building into cumulonimbus.

^ thanks for answering that one Sigwx ^

Sometimes you can see such isolated cells on their own or in a line in otherwise uniform cloud deck, I'm not knowledgeable about Monsoon weather so can't comment on that scenario, however, you can also see this type of weather where a warm and cold front meet (on the ground or aloft) as you then get the stable uniform cloud deck from the warm front and the line of embedded convective popcorn type clouds from just behind the cold front location on the ground.

Nice pics ^

On a recent trip home I was enjoying the full moon and noticed (maybe for the first time, at least that i can remember) seeing contrails being slightly 'illuminated' so that they appeared quite silky and almost shimmered like mother of pearl...has anyone else seen this while flying BA? (pictures by chance?) looked stunning really.

Also curious if anyone happened to be flying during the supermoon and if they caught that on camera? (weather related as the longer wavelength light waves were being refracted by the atmosphere and causing the moon to appear red...)

Any other interesting weather related phenomenon during your BA travels recently?

Snapped this lovely sunset one evening recently after coming home from a BA flight back from Brussels. Interestingly, the sunset was all red to the human eye but the iPhone camera obviously saw some bright yellow from the Sun still...
