Can't believe I've missed this thread so far! I've taken travel photography as a hobby so there will be more to come when I finish editing more of them or when we can fly safely again.

There has been quite a lot of stormy weather around the UK in the last few days and the clouds today reflect that.

My departure out of GLA a couple of weeks ago. Best day weather wise in the two and a half weeks I was home and it had to be the day I was leaving!

A few from me for a change, now that travel for work is starting to pick up again...

OW partner airline coming in to DUB....some nice precipitation that is virga in some spots but does reach the ground in others...(the forecast said it wouldn't rain!) :)

Towering cumulus with precipitation (and some spots of virga: precipitation that evaporates before it reaches the ground) on approach into DUB on Aer Lingus flight. You can also see three ferries coming out of the harbour.

Some cumulus clouds acting as a nice backdrop for a recent site visit airside at Ireland West airport!

Safe travels everyone.

Amazing photos everyone, thanks for posting them as they provide some lovely distraction and anticipation for upcoming trips! Please do post any questions you may have about the best IFE there is and any weather phenomenon you may see while on your BA or OW travels.

A bit of an aside, but worth mentioning, for the next time you are underway...send a physical postcard back to someone that would love to get a reminder you are thinking of them and a quick note on your travels, I promise you they'll love it and what better way to send a post card than with the new stamp collection that has just been announced together with the UK Met Office: 170th Anniversary of Weather Forecasting Stamps

Safe travels, remember to get out and enjoy the weather, wherever you may find yourself.

After arriving back from a BA flight to FRA around Christmas time...and then heading north on the M1...I came across a cloud type we don't see all that often (or at least not for very long...)

Cirrostratus (Cs), a high level cloud that is just thick enough that the sun or other objects look like one is looking at them through ground glass (somewhere between transparent and opaque). Usually very hard to see any distinct edges or variation...quite like fog at a very high height!

Usually indicates a warm front approaching (but typically seen more on larger land masses, where the fronts can be slower as they move across, so the cloud mass is more stretched out horizontally and more cloud types can distinctly be seen...in the UK the fronts (especially the last year) have been roaring in and across the UK in a zonal flow (unhindered as they fly across the Atlantic and hit us at full energy and go through quite quickly).

Anyway, as not many pics of this type of cloud it was nice to see one for once!

Please do share your cloud photos and remember to look up and around at the show mother nature puts on for us as the best IFE going...
