Checked bag, shopping, electronics....lost

I knew it was a mistake, but I checked a.bag at SFO full of new kids clothes and an apple TV.

I joked to my colleague it would be the last time I saw it......

2 days later, still no bag.

I curse my own stupidity in equal measures with the thieving chavs.

About 15 people were at my final destination also going SFO via LHR and all their bags arrived.

I am prepared to be wrong, but every time I lost luggage it turned up in 24hrs.

I take it you reported it the baggage service desk in the arrivals hall? And that you have travel insurance?

Have BA provided any update on the bag?

Good reminder for all not to check valuables. COC limits compensation and most insurance policies limit recovery for them.

Yes, valuables go in cabin bags and smelly clothes get checked.

contents form and claim from BA filed. Even more stupid i realize i left the receipts in the bags.

I am amazed looking back how I did this. I was flustered after getting a ticket for an illegal u-turn near SFO and was frazzled after 11hr meeting, but in the end, I learn a lesson.

Thankfully I am covered x3 (BA, Work insurance, personal insurance) and if worst comes to worst, the electric items were actually for work purposes so i will claim the cost back. But even still. Stupid.

Question - do people generally distrust US airports more? I dont trust the TSA after numerous documentaries etc.
