NYC-MAN Which Aircraft

Can anyone tell me which type of aircraft BA used for the JFK-MAN flights that they used to operate?

Thanks,

NV

Depends how far back you are looking.

Presently, its an American Airlines B757-200 codeshare

In the past, its been:

B767-300 (used G-BNWT for the vast majority of flights, often lovingly referred to as G-TECH)
B757-200 (very brief stint when they also ran GLA-JFK and BHX-JFK)
Bcal DC10 (brief stint shared with LGW)
Tristar
VC-10

And I pretty sure the B747-100 and B707 have made appearances on the MAN-NYC run too.

Yep. Flew that 767 once. We had arranged to visit the in-laws before Christmas when the work-trip came up. It was very convenient to have to travel back to London just to get the flight. Terrible overhead locker space but everything was good.

Your right, I meant to say H', but, for the G-TECH ref went straight for T'. D'OH!

Cheers for correction.

They did BHX - JFK? Oh my god... and I'm guessing that failed...!? When?

BA used to do GLA-JFK with a mixture of Tristar and 767. The good old days but it'll never happen again as it wouldn't be viable.

It was running in 1997 - used to go on from JFK to YYZ (or was it the other way around). BA had traffic rights on the local leg and I flew it

My first flight ever was BA GLA-NYC in 1991! I wish they would bring it back, but it will never happen!

At least they gave it a try.

Ferrying in aircraft and cabin crew to operate such a route is never going to be economical.

Indeed! Do you know how long it kept going for?

Not precisely but it wasn't that long...three years at a guess in some shape or form.
