Holiday 2012....where is British Airways (or not) taking you this year?

Last years thread was fun so I thought it was about time to start this years.

Our holiday last year turned out to be completely different from what I posted.
This year we are busy with other things so have nothing planned and will probably give the UK a miss sadly.

How about you?

This April I will be on BA168 bound for Shanghai and during the summer I will hopefully fly to Bangkok. In the winter holidays I might go to Sydney but since Emirates has the A380 on all flights legs for me on the way from Ams to SYD I have already a strong tendency towards another airline...(just look at my username)

A very mixed bag for me this year - all leisure - before August while Mrs J5a is still on mat leave

April - Corfu on Easyjet
May - Georgia on BMI (prize tickets)
June - Mauritius on BA
July - somewhere in Europe

Trying to get Mrs J5a's leave granted for Christmas - was hoping HKG but redemptions are getting scarce

Then home on TF F via BKK for some beach time.

Hope to fit in a few days in LAS later in the summer.

This September we'll be taking our first ever BA long-haul, in CW on upper deck to Vancouver. Thanks to Tesco Avios I eventually closed my eyes, took a deep breath and paid the fuel surcharges.

Looking forward to it, assuming I remember to go to T5 instead of T3!

Apart from up and down home to see the family a few times, BA is only bringing me home from places.

Fling Club World from San Francisco to London.

Flying Euro Traveller from Hamburg to London.

That is all I have booked on BA, the rest is with other airlines.

For us, to and from Tunisia, the US, Holland, Germany, Romania, Cyprus, Manchester (!), Istanbul and Dubai and maybe others.

But, in the summer, we'll let others to the travelling and be at home for the Olympics for which we have some tickets. ^

For the first time in a few years I don't have an award booking to Vancouver booked 9 months in advance. I will almost certainly still go to Vancouver, I went 3 times last year in all.

This years award booking will be to the Dominican Republic, via somewhere in the US. Maybe SFO on the way out and NYC on the return.

I will be taking the girlfriend to somewhere in the south of France, or the north of Italy.

Good choice! If you want any itinerary tips, just ask. Been 6 times so far!!

Probably not managing a trip to YVR ourselves this year (last went July 2011).

So far:

Tenerife in a fortnight.

Orkney in June (cheeky full week off for the price of 3 days thanks to Her Maj!). Wife's father and ancestors are Orkadians.

Need to burn some Avios later in the year, but haven't decided where yet!

Family off on safari during the Easter holidays

Will be our first time in CW - MFU from WT+ thanks to everything I learned here ^

First time the rest of the family will have been in the GC and first time any of us will have used the Arrivals Lounge.

Not too long off now, starting to get excited
