luggage storage @JFK

I have a long layover at JFK and will be heading into the city - is there somewhere at the airport I can leave my bags for the day?

I'm connecting on LAN who move to T8 - any views on the AA lounges in T8?

If you're flying out with BA they'll through-check your bags as LAN are part of OneWorld.

Sure, but I want to leave my carry on rather than take it to NYC with me.

Typing 'left luggage jfk' into Google yielded this:

The point I was making is that if you used Google (which is hardly onerous) you might do a lot better.

The BA forum is about BA, not about random left luggage facilities at a non-BA terminal at JFK. @:-)@:-)

If you must post here use the GateA10 thread which is there specifically for OT posts.

There is a luggage storage facility at JFK T8 and also at Penn Station. The latter is a viable alternative if you're using the LIRR to get from the airport into Manhattan.

The above thread provides more info on the options available to you.

Be aware that Amtrak's baggage-storage facility might require one to present an Amtrak or NJ Transit rail ticket. Experience varies as to how strictly this is enforced by the Amtrak baggage agents.

There are, of course, baggage-storage facilities in some of JFK's terminals, which can be quickly accessed by a free ride on the JFK AirTrain. (No charge to ride AirTrain between terminals.)

I've left my carry on at T4 during a long layover about a year ago - bit of a nuisance that it's not in the same terminal as BA, but manageable, and certainly easier than taking the bag shopping

from the JFK website is the information below, which fits with my recollection.(http://www.panynj.gov/faqs/airports....irportsJFKQu06)

Are there places at JFK airport to store baggage?
There are two places at JFK where baggage can be stored:

Terminal 1, Arrivals, 1st Floor near Alitalia & Olympic Airlines, open 7am to 11pm, (718) 751-2947
Terminal 4, Arrivals, 1st Floor, open 24 hours, (718) 751-4020
The cost for both locations is $4 to $16 per day, depending on size of luggage.
