USA AMEX 30% Transfer Bonus to Avios Miles [Deadline 31 January 2012]

Similar to the promotions offered earlier this year, AMEX is now offering a 30% bonus for transferred Membership Rewards points before the end of January 2012. I had not seen this posted again, so I thought I'd place a reminder here.

USA cards only, it would seem.

Hopefully they will do the same for UK, although I'm almost at 20k so was about to look into transferring them through SPG to BA for an extra 25%, but was hoping Amex would do a similar offer (40% maybe).

I dont think anyone will match Tesco's 66% bonus in Feb

(rubs hands together mwahahahaa)

Can anyone confirm if the offer is USA based or Dollar based?
Is the offer also for IDC cards?

And, to be specific, it's January 31, 2012.

Thank you sir

And thanks mods.

For those not familiar with past transfer promos, the usual rate is 50%.

I think it's not only that it must be a US Amex, but that it must be a US BAEC account too, right? I have a US Amex and would love to do a transfer, but my BAEC account is in Europe. Out of luck?

I tried before with my US Amex to UK BAEC before I moved it over to the US and it worked fine and the miles appeared pretty much instantly with the bonus. Suggest you do a small transfer first to see if it works and then a larger one - you can always contact amex if the miles dont post the first time.

Not sure how often they have these promos, but is it likely that they will have a 50% rate again later in the year?

I just gave it a try and didn't get past the acknowledgement box which says you must have a US BAEC acct.

How? Isn't it a 2:1 into SPG?
