is there is a time limitation to change the date of award ticket?

is there is a time limitation to change the date of award ticket?
for example,

can i change my future departure date to today for immediate departure?

or can i just change to a limited time window something like not earlier than tomorrow?

I think it would all be down to availability for the outbound and return flights. AFAIK you cannot alter the return once you have started the outbound.

Subject to availability it is 24 hours before EACH flight. Since the changes in November, you are now permitted to change the return and onward sectors.

I don't know about chaging an advance booking to leave today, but certainly I've been able to change a future booking to tomorrow (given availability).

I should also add provided the proposed change is within the validation period of the ticket (usually 1 year from the date of issue)!

You can indeed change a ticket to "today", but if you do, you will not be able to change it back again because no further changes are allowed 24 hours before the flight.
