WAS-ORD = 9,000 avios rt
WAS-MSY = 15,000 avios rt
And across the continental US seems to still be 25,000 rt (BOS-SAN). So basically using these miles for domestic US flights in the CONUS just got better, and by more of a margin than I expected to be honest.
EDIT: Okay maybe I'm completely wrong. I see now that this applies: "These guide prices are based on a one-way journey on British Airways. Prices may vary on partner airlines."

Unless it's a last minute/unplanned booking, I don't think a lot of people use miles for short flights. So most pax would fall into the latter category, making those affected negatively disproportionately higher than those impacted positively from these changes.

Well I certainly feel for the BA flyers, but I think there are a decent number of us who got our 100k BA miles for domestic flights. I use star alliance and AA miles for vacation which for me is always to Europe for a variety of reasons, so BA miles with their YQ fees are nearly useless for that. But for domestic AA redemptions this is great news.

The change doesn't seem so vicious for straightforward USA to South America itineraries. 50K per leg NYC-BUE or SCL in C, versus 40K yesterday. For intra-SA fares, short-ish Y hops are much cheaper. I see AEP-COR for 4.5K, versus 10K yesterday. SCL-AEP, usually one of the cheapest routes when paid in cash, is 15K versus yesterday's 25K. BUE-LIM is 20K versus 25K yesterday. I'm not being an apologist, as this is still a devaluation overall for US-based flyers with grander ambitions. On a possible plus side, those left with odd lots of BA miles following rushed redemptions in recent days/weeks may be able to find some interesting short hops to rid themselves of remaining milios. For US-based flyers who got Chase cards and didn't use miles but dreamed of East Coast to Asia rewards, they're probably thinking that it is eye-stabbing time.

It also looks like you can mix and match partners?
AA+LA MIA-SCL-IPC = 60k triple the old price.
edit. nevermind. it still looks like multipartners price as two-one way awards. :/
too bad they couldn't go the route of all-partners award like AA.
Also looks like points are calculated segment wise.
eg. 1000 mile flight + 20 mile flight = zone 2 + zone 1 not zone 2.

I know this was the general consensus but it's interesting to see. For me the program just got more valuable. Just pricing some awards for instance:
WAS-ORD = 9,000 avios rt
WAS-MSY = 15,000 avios rt
And across the continental US seems to still be 25,000 rt (BOS-SAN). So basically using these miles for domestic US flights in the CONUS just got better, and by more of a margin than I expected to be honest.
EDIT: Okay maybe I'm completely wrong. I see now that this applies: "These guide prices are based on a one-way journey on British Airways. Prices may vary on partner airlines."
