That's a long time for the plane to be sitting in LGW, which is a shame. If it were allowed, and if there were demand, by my reckoning it could probably manage a trip as far as DME/SVO/CAI/TLV, for example:
LGW-DME 07:00 - 15:00 DME-LGW 16:30 - 16:50 and still have plenty of slack. Bringing it slightly back on topic, what are the BA flights that spend a long time on the ground at outstations and what could those planes do in the meantime if laws and passenger demand allowed? |

Is the runway at LGW long enough for an A330-200 to get all the way to HKG?
(I suppose it's not going to be fully loaded as it'll have an all-J config...but LGW-HKG must be right on the limit of an A332s range). |
