Thank you
My thinking is that if I need to take a unplanned flight to NYC (where I will just have been during xmas) I will be looking for the cheapest flight possible, i.e. WT. If that is via London with BA great. However, at present BA.com quotes AA from BRU direct to JFK as cheapest by far. This may change in the New Year BA sale (assuming there is one).
If its via London, I know the score 10+35 = 90 return
However direct from BRU to JFK, I have no idea...

There will be a Christmas Sale [probably] although whether it's going to cover WT i have no idea. It usually does WT+, which is what I'm waiting for.
As to BRU-JFK with AA ... I honestly have no idea. Sorry.
Someone must know the answer ....

I also plan on buying WT+ tickets (the WT ticket is just for making gold). You think it will be Christmas (i.e. this side of New Years)?

And I/we will never make Gold
Looking at my database, we seem to have booked mainly in January for our long forward bookings [typically 6-9 months ahead].
However, "by Christmas" is certainly a possibility ... I'm waiting on that for our Sep 12 booking [we have 2 in the bank already for 2012, but you can't have too many ]
I'll be scanning from mid-Dec onwards for the deals. Suggest you do the same?

CPT?
Have noticed the FAQ's have been updated but am still confused on the status of CPT post-changes (whether >6000 miles or not)
FAQ (updated 3rd November) says Buenos Aires, Tokyo and Singapore are only flights greater than 6000 miles, yet earlier in this thread it seemed to be confirmed that CPT was also?

Do I get this right, that longhaul is still per definiton a flight over 2000 mls? So JFK - LAX or HKG - DPS would still be considered as longhaul (according to the TP calculator) and earn the increased number of TP despite the fact that they are not on BA (oder BA codeshare) and does not originate in Great Britain?
Nicci has thankfully answered this question but did not mention the >2000 miles in her reply. Or asked different would the new TP 35 / 70 / 90 / 140 / 210 apply for all oneworld flights worldwide which does not touch the UK with 2000 mls <flights with new tier points <6000 mls
Sorry for this question, but after searching for quite some time now, I did not get clear statement to this and since I am about to plan a trip to DPS with CX over HKG this is not unimportant for me to know.
Thanks for wading in, Nicci.
To be clear, does this apply to all longhaul routes not just routes "which originate or terminate in the UK" (as the page says right now). So after 16th November would SFO-HKG on CX in J earn 160 (not 120) one-way, for example, since it's over 6000 miles? And similarly, say, JFK-EZE on AA in J earns 140 (not 120) as it's >2000 but <6000?

Sorry folks, I am sure this has been dealt with somewhere but I can't find a definitive answer anywhere...
I am flying to SIN with Finnair next week in J via HEL. Currently I would earn 180 tier points but am I correct in understanding this will now drop to 160 since the calculation is now based on the full itinerary rather then the component flights?

Earnings on IBERIA
I refer to my previous question and your answer below * and **
What you said was obviously not true because looking at
the updated BA site it says:
Partners Information
IBERIA
Minimum Aviosē: 300 <- So not 500
Avios awarded: Economy (discounted) 25% of flown Avios <- So not 100%
Tier bonus: Silver 50% Gold 75%

You wrote here that there are some improvements on what you will earn on Iberia such as 500 minimum miles (Avios) and 100% Avios on discount economy ticket
but on the new IB plus site it says 60%, and 100% only on transatlantic flights*, so will it really be 100% or 100% only for flights with BA flight number? i.e. IB flight number=60%
Please clarify
1 Air mile flown Discount Economy = 60% of total air miles flown
http://www.novedadesiberiaplus.com/i...ec=m1&lang=en#
*Why do I get 100% of my flown distance even with a discount fare on routes to North America?
Thanks to an agreement with American Airlines and British Airways to award more Avios on these routes.
