An upgrade for one person

Hi,

I have tried searching and looking in the sticky to find the answer to my question but could not find anything.

Got a flight to Sofia coming up and found a good price for an upgrade in MMB.

There is two of us travelling but only one of us wants to upgrade. If you try online it gives you the cost for two people. Is it possible to upgrade one person, if so how can it be done?

Thanks

You could call and get the PNR split, however this may result in the upgrade offer being removed. YMMV.

Good luck!

Splitting the booking will result in the online special upgrade offer being taken away on the new PNR. I learnt it the hard way

I don't think you can categorically state that it will be taken away, but there's a possibility that it will be.

I remember talking to someone from BA and discussing the POU availability, and she said that any manual intervention would generally render POU unavailable on that booking. So I think it is likely that the POU option will disappear after splitting the booking.

From my experience it is taken away from the new PNR while still being avaliable in the old booking, and so
it would be unwise to tell the OP to put the passenger who wants the upgrade on a new PNR

I've had the offer remain in only the original booking once, being in both bookings and not being available at all. As I said, YMMV.

That's usually a tricky one, but you got it on the first guess! Welcome to FT.

Your mileage may vary, in this case meaning what you get is pretty much random.

Ah right. That's good to know. Thought the alternative was slightly weird.
