BA EC redemption on RJ
 

Hi - I'm trying to book a redemption using BA points on the AMM-BKK RJ n/s and/or vv in May 2012.

I cannot find any availability in May - was curious if BAEC blocks awards like UA - I realize the AMM-BKK flight continues on to HKG (and may be a popular option LHR-AMM-HKG), but can't believe there is zero availability 9 months away!

Does BAEC open up more seats?

PS - the BAEC search engine keeps giving me the option of AMS-DEL on RJ, then DEL-BKK on CX, would book it but would require many more points as it is a mixed partner award

I doubt BA is the one who is blocking availability.

I suspect RJ is doing that blocking due the popularity of their AMM-BKK route and they keep it blocked up to couple of days prior to departure to secure selling the seats in the revenue category.

There is typically ONE award seat (in J) available on every AMM-LHR and AMM-BKK flight.

The first dates I searched - AMM-BKK on 1 May (also 2 May, 3 May, 4 May, 5 May), BKK-AMM on 6 May - shows that one seat available. Are you looking for J class or Y class?

Thanks Smirnoff - I'm actually looking for 2 between 17 May-first week of June - on BA.com, it won't even give me the WhY option
