Just noticed a big BA banner prominently displayed in Fierce Creatures as part of the attempt by the character portrayed by Kevin Kline to sponsor everything and then make off with the sponsorship cash.

The Wild Geese was on the other night.
Starts with Concorde landing in the 1970's "British airways" livery.

There was an episode of the "Danger Mouse" cartoon where he was chasing a hijacked BA Concorde...

And what a damn good film that was / is. Come to think of it, I need to watch it again!

And thank you for the admin job Jimmie76 - that makes things a lot simpler.

BA at the cinema - Argo

Watched this trailer before Skyfall earlier today - the film is called "Argo", set around the Iran Hostage crisis

Ben Affleck travels from Washington to Tehran on a BA 747 -you can see it in the trailer at 1:35

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQkdOSwz2Kw

Onboard scenes must play some part since although not shown in the trailer, IMDB lists the rather fabulous Allegra Carpenter as a "British Airways Flight Attendant". One to look out for.....! http://uk.imdb.com/name/nm4670679/

I guess in reality this should be in the "Celebs on BA" thread though!!

They fly in on BA. They leave on Swissair.

Go see it. It's a very good film with a cracking cast.

I thought Skyfall was great too, we got an advance preview and were specifically asked not to disclose anything about the film. It was the best Bond film I've seen.

Two appropriate quotes for here:
Age is no guarantee of efficiency
Youth is no guarantee of innovation.

Just to prevent going off thread, I was disappointed there was no BA involvement since I was under the impression that there was. But there was a scene at Shanghai Airport (though I couldn't place it from my own knowledge of the place).

This thread might be best combined/merged with this existing one: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...h+called+wanda where we are already talking about BA in Films/TV

This site on film locations suggests it was filmed at Ascot, so no wonder it might be hard to place.

If you are counting ACI episodes, the you also have:

Speedbird 5390 (Blow Out), front windscreen on a BAC1-11 (remember them) blew out and took the Captain with it. He survived as the crew hung onto him while the FO got the plane on the ground.

Then you have Speedbird 38 (Crash on landing at LHR, when ice formed in the Fuel Oil Heat exchanger)

And if we are counting predecessors and subsidiaries:

British Aitours 28M (Manchester disaster)

BA781 (BOAC) comet 1

BE609 Munich Air disaster

In The Hunt for Red October, Alec Baldwin flies to and from the UK on BA in Club and there is a shot of the old Club "Dots" logo on both the cup and headrest.
