Changing a booking after BA status changes

My wife is a silver card holder (expires this week) and is currently 10 points and a ba metal flight short of renewal (but thats another story).

She has a flight that was booked months ago but will need to change it.

The booking was made when she was silver but If she is no longer silver when she changes the booking can she still get a seat allocated?

Don't think so,

As for the 10 tp's could she not just do a domestic return to get the points banked? Does seem a huge waste of 596 tp's !!

Would love to but we are in the USA for the next month or so.

She can do a domestic us flight which gets her enough points but she will still only have done 3 ba metals. As you say complete waste of 590 points.

I can tell you definitely not (unless she pays to change seats) as I had the same query in April.

Try to book a Domestic flight as a BA codeshare which qualify as a BA flight.

Also, you can take her down to BGI and fly and intra-Carribean route on BA from there, I guess...

Call up the EC. They have been known to extend your membership year by a few weeks.

Otherwise you can hope that BA comp another year.
