OK-- where would you go and what class of ticket would you book with 104K miles for a weekend jaunt from ORD? Not sure where to take the wife for our anniversary weekend (Fri-Sun) in August.

Something without too much altitude, cosmopolitan or nature-- just something special where I can use those BA miles

Anywhere AA flies in coach! Since AA is two class, BA charges for First rather than Business class, so you're SOL on getting anything higher.

25K miles each will get you anywhere in CONUS.
35K to Hawaii or the Caribbean
40K to South America
50K to Europe 1 or the Far East

Here's BA's single partner award table.

Since you're talking about a weekend, though, how about Vancouver? Nice this time of year. Or Cape Cod.

Wow-- these are great suggestions-- and thanks for the added info on the mileage awards! Gotta love FT community!

AA offers Business Class -- not First Class -- on its flights to Canada and the Caribbean. So a roundtrip in Business Class to Canada would cost 50K BA miles per person. A roundtrip to the Caribbean with one way in Coach and the other in Business would cost 52.5K miles per person, or 105K miles for two. (Don't know whether the OP can scare up another 1,000 BA miles in time.)

And don't forget: BA permits free, enroute stopovers on its awards. So on the return, the OP might be able to do BDA or Caribbean-JFK-ORD (lengthy stopover) - California, Las Vegas, or Hawaii, for the same cost in miles as the trip from the Caribbean to ORD by itself.
