MFU CW to F on connecting flight
Hello There,
I am about to buy TLV-IAD return CW ticket. In the TLV-IAD flight: both TLV-LHR & LHR-IAD are operated by B767 so no chance for MFU. On the return IAD-TLV flight both of the IAS-LHR & LHR-TLV flights are operated by B777, and I would like to try and do MFU in these flights. However, the LHR-TLV has no seats in F available for upgrade (while IAD-LHR has). Is there anyway I can upgrade only the IAD-LHR segment (BA.COM won't let me do so while booking)? And if so - How much will it cost me (32500 miles as usual?). Thanks in advance, gordo6. |
I believe so, yes. Only 25K miles for TATL. You need to call BAEC.
|
Thanks. Do I need to do that while booking (so the BA service center will do the booking for me), or can I book via the internet and then call BA? Should I buy the flight as multi segment: TLV-IAD, IAD-LHR, LHR-TLV online and then do the upgrade online for the IAD-LHR segment (is that even possible?). And can I waitlist for the LHR-TLV segment?

You can do the booking online and then call afterwards if you want,if the mfu availability is there.

Discounted Club World MFU to First?
I have an upcoming LHR-TLV in CW, snagged an I fare and have not really investigated MFU on BA before.
Am I correct that only a full-fare CW can MFU to First? |

Many thanks TBS, I had looked here: http://www.britishairways.com/travel...s/public/en_gb but that seemed contradicted to what I read on AA.com, which seemed to indicate only full-fare, and although the flight is operated by BA I did purchase it on aa.com.
Good to have clarity as phone wait was 37 minutes! Ah!! If you booked it on aa.com it might be slightly different ( the reference above was intended if you had booked it on ba.com) -it may be worth checking as I'm not that familiar with aa.com bought tickets for BA flights. Sorry for any confusion Regards TBS |

Sorry for any confusion Regards TBS http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/re...radeAwards.jsp vs https://www.britishairways.com/trave...s/public/en_us The good news is that CW is one of my favorite products so its not at all a big deal on the short flight to TLV. |
MFU upgrade for BA flight purchased through AA?
Does anyone have a definitive answer on whether a discounted CW ticket purchased through American Airlines (BA flight/BA Metal) is eligible for MFU to First. I called BA again to confirm a schedule change and the agent told me that it would be possible depending on availability. This is a different answer than I received yesterday. I am very new to the MFU process on BA, so is there a definitive answer in terms of my ability to use BA miles to upgrade such a flight?

Extending the above example, if I am flying WT+ on LHR-SYD with a stopover in SIN, if I find MFU availability on LHR-SIN, I assume it cost me 20k miles (25% of 80k). However if I then later see MFU availability for SIN-SYD would it cost me another 12.5k miles (25% of 50k), even though it would only be a total of 25k miles (25% of 100k) if I was to MFU all the way in 1 go? It might not seem like much but I'm looking to MFU 3 of us both ways, so it would be 45k miles difference!
