People have been talking about this for years but it has not come ... yet.

Possibly because of the YQ.

I expect that if and when it does come not everyone will be a loser. It might take the form of, say, rates to the west coast and South Africa going up to 60k, South America and South Africa to 80k and all the others being the same.

That should make award redemptions a little easier."

One way, LHR to YVR it earns 4,713 miles. There's a cabin bonus of 25% for having booked into WT+, which is a further 1178, bringing the total to 5,891. There are also status bonuses if you are Silver or Gold, but by the sound of it you are blue.
Am I correct that the MFU flight back earns the miles and TPs of the cabin upgraded from so that would be another 5,891 earned on the return? If so then 5,891 x 2 = 11,782, + 1000 for the LCY-AMS return sector, = 12,782 miles =

Anyone know about the upgradablilty of the non-MFU sectors?

Just be careful not to spend anything extra on the upgrade for LCY-AMS-LCY. The difference is a handful of dry salad leaves and if you're lucky a second drink. No difference in the hard product, especially no guarantee of an empty seat next to you (it's a 2-2 config).

Isn't that rather unkind? Despite what you appear to believe, the majority of passengers on BA flights pay fares. And most of our flights are very full right now so staff don't always get on.

And yes, I've also heard the rumour that mileage will soon be devalued. I think there are just too many miles around now to keep it at the level it is.

It seems to have upgraded the AMS-LCY sector to CE automatically, but its still only charging me 12,500 miles so I'm not complaining. At least I'll get to check out the AMS lounge.

True, but to MFU a YVR to LHR return from WT+ to Club will cost you 25,000 miles.

Certain that if you book your trip and can only upgrade the inbound due to lack of award availability, then you can upgrade the outbound later with miles if award availability opens up.

The AMS lounge is OK and has recently been refurbished. But I still find the general departure area of Schipol to be far more interesting than the lounge. So much to see!!

Enjoy your trip
