Thumbs up BA Miles about to expire, what to do?

My BA executive club miles are on the verge of expiring per a letter from marketing services (and I haven't flown with them since 2008). What's the cheapest way to keep my account/miles active?

Thanks!

Go to BA shopping portal and buy something - that is the cheapest method.

I am sure a search in BA forum would unearth more options.

Can you still get BA points for clicking thru their shopping portal to Ebay?

Transfer from SPG to BA.

well without knowing how quickly these miles are due to expire its hard to suggest a way as miles earned via the eshopping tend to taka a while to post, the quickest way would be to buy 1,000 via the ba.com website as these would post within 24 hours

^ This is the quickest way if you need them in the next couple of days. If you have a few months you can try the BA Shopping portal or if you have a few weeks any loyalty or Amex transfer should be OK

Donating at least 50% to another BAEC member will work too, and I'll happily accept them to help you out :

I think they only expire if there's no activity on the account. So long as you're flying on BA and earning miles then nothing ever expires.

They will expire en masse if there is no activity on the account for 3 years. As long as one mile is credited every three years they have no sell by date.

Is the expiration date reset when you spend miles (e.g., book an award flight) or does that happen only if you earn miles?

Any activity (+ or -) keeps the account active.
12.3. If a Member has not earned or redeemed Mileage or purchased or transferred Mileage in accordance with the appropriate Conditions of Use for 36 consecutive months, all Mileage that has accrued to that date will expire.

Hi,

And if you buy them before 5th of May you can get a bonus ( up to 30% if you buy the maximum of 24,000 miles)

Regards
