Tripoli (Libya)

My thoughts are with everyone caught up in the civil unrest in Tripoli and elsewhere.

I noticed that today's service to/from Tripoli has been cancelled. Has it been deemed unsafe? I would have thought that BA would be helping to get as many nationals out of TIP as possible...

Here's hoping that this is good riddance to Qaddafi.

I wonder if the Government are going to charter a plane from BA?

It has been deemed unsafe. I think they made this decision last night.

Because the unrest is so bad and the family arent the nicest of people I think the navy route is the best policy. However there is possibly a plane going to help get people home.

No doubt BA will be criticized for canceling it's flights...

A few weeks ago, criticized for flying people into Tunisia...

This week, criticized for not flying people out of Libya...

If they want crew to do it, I am all for it. I will go and bring people home.

Your spelling reminds me of a document circulating in Whitehall many years ago, attempting to standardise the spelling of the loony's name. IIRC, there were 13 variations in use!

Qaddafi seemed favourite, although I pity the poor bloke who has to engrave the tombstone ... if Muammar ever gets a proper burial, instead of just a pile of ashes underneath a lamp-post in Tripoli.

God Speed to all those there and trying to get out ... whoever your God may be.

Let me see now ... Qadaffi, Qaddafi, Qadafi, Qaddaffi (4), Kadaffi, Kaddafi, Kadafi, Kaddaffi (4), Qudaffi, Quddafi, Qudafi, Quddaffi (4), Kudaffi, Kuddafi, Kudafi, Kuddaffi (4), Qedaffi, Qeddafi, Qedafi, Qeddaffi (4), Kedaffi, Keddafi, Kedafi, Keddaffi (4), plus all the above with a G instead of a K (8)

So I can get 32. Any more?

I cant do polite versions. But he is called Muammar Gaddafi. Read very quickly and at first I thought this was mummy Gaddafi. For a moment I thought another person is going to loose their hands.

Nice one, 6F ... I'm not pretending my memory is what is was!! Although I would delete the ones with "U" and one does with a certain Aussie airline

Whichever, I'll chip in a shilling for the big tombstone to engrave them all on.
