It's that time of the year again.

How many miles have you flown in 2010? And how does it compare to 2009?

I'll start. I flew 62211 miles, spread across 45 sectors (13Y, 32J). In 2009 I flew 65969 miles. So almost the same, really.

Around 85K miles

LH 18 segments
SH 12 segments

All but 1 LH segment in J.
SH all but 3 in J.

I believe 2009 was a little more (around 100K).

EDIT: Great exception this year was that (apart from one SH r/t) all my flights were leisure!

So? Does it matter in the greater scheme of things?

Lets put it this way....I've done the equivalent in miles of about 40 short haul flights.

81,000 miles across 115 sectors. Number of miles up on 2009 and number of sectors down (fine by me )

71 of those were on BA metal and sadly, 17 on Easyjet (although I do think they are getting better across the board..).

Heaven knows what will happen in 2011 but I've got my first A380 flight coming up in March (LH FRA-JFK)

Very little compared to most, and I can recall them all.

In the order flown :-
LHR-PEK (BA J)
PEK-NRT (DL Y)
NRT-LHR (BA J)
STN-LNZ-STN (FR)
LGW-MCO-LGW (BA J)
STN-GLA-STN (EZ)

Which comes to a total of 23038 miles

About 205K BIS miles, 130 sectors - 48 of those longhaul.
Very little BA flying this year, due to lack of CW award availability.

By 31st of December (with two flights to go) I should have completed 100,512 Miles -(60 + sectors) compared with 70,000 last Year

New for 2010....

Destinations = NGO, GDL, ORD and hopefully TLV by Christmas Day.
Carriers = Aero Mexico (RIP Mexicana !) and Westjet
Equipment = ERJ-170
Upgrades = 1 x Y to J (AY) 1 x Y to W to J (BA) 1 x J to F (BA) 1 x W to J (JL)

Apart from some AY and JL diversions during the strike threat period, most of my LH flying was on BA.

Many thanks to all the great BA crews who kept me well fed (sort of), watered, comfortable and safe in 2010.

Somewhere around 100K, less than half the previous year. Similar number of sectors though, around 100.
