An “official POUG” is defined (for the purposes of this wiki) as the rate that appears in red on the MMB/BA app. It is NOT the rate offered at the airport (please see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...ng-thread.html), or the rate offered when you click on the “Upgrade my class of travel with money” link from within MMB, or the “Upgrade to the next available cabin” blue/grey banner in the app.
  • All POUGs earn full TPs and Avios for the upgraded cabin, subject to the original booking being paid for with cash.
  • POUGs *ARE* offered on Hand-Baggage Only fares, if available
  • POUGs only become available after 48 hours of making your booking, until any time up to, and including OLCI. After being checked in you will not be offered a POUG.
  • POUGs do not seem to become available for travel agent bookings, until 2-3 days before departure (YMMV)
  • POUGs cannot be requested from Service Centres, except that occasionally BA.com will not proceed with a POUG online and display a message inviting you to call the Service Centre to complete the transaction.
  • After a POUG has been purchased, the ticket become non changeable and non refundable, apart from government taxes.

Please add to this list as required, and include the month/year when the POUG is offered to you.

On another point, is it correct that seats C and D are separated and A and B are not?
Mine were all on E190's (lovely) and E170's (not lovely) so all seats were 2-2

Quick Q: Where do you request whether paid upgrades are available when departing from LHR T5? Can this be done at any bag-drop desk or do you need to go to a separate ticketing counter before checking in?

Any bag drop desk, who will offer you the price, and send you to ticket desk if you go for it.

You can also check again at the customer service desks once airside.

How long should one wait for the tp/Avios amendments for a paid upgrade - upgraded to CE in Athens last 10 days ago but it's still showing ET points and Avios

I think the question was about CityFlyer, where CE seats are completely the same as ET seats and the only distinction is the service and the tier points.

This is with the exception of 2CD on the E190, which have several kilometres of leg room

if you upgraded via MMB then it should be there by now (in my experience) if you booked in person at the airport I could not comment as have never done this

First time flying CE, From T3 at LHR. So I have a couple of questions:

When we arrive to drop off our bags is there a fast bag drop? for people flying CE?
Which lounge can we use? Which is the best in T3?
Which seat would be best? according to the BA website it is a A320, seat guru say the first 3 rows are 4 seats with the table in the middle and all other rows are seats. is that true? Im guessing row 1 is that best?

I just want to get the full experience
Had a great start to the holiday, The lounge in T3 is awesome, Huge and very spacious. Allright food and a good selection of booze. We used a bus gate which was a load of balls! Afternoon tea on the plane was very good the scones were nice and warm. The other side in Lisbon all CE passengers were left to wait for the very last bags. I think it was worth the £79 upgrade.

If the flights have already posted but with the incorrect amounts you will need to raise this with your local BAEC centre and they will put through to the back-office for a correction. If it was an airport upgrade, usually it will show in their systems but I've also been asked to fax a copy of my BP or purchase receipt.

YMMV

What is the typical J-F cost for LHR to PVG? Can this be done in the GF lounge?

I think it might be £499, and I understand the lounge dragons can check availability but you would need to go to the customer service desk to pay.

OT: I've searched ... but cannot find. Don't want to start a fresh thread ....

Is there a published list of which gates are bus gates?

Interested generally .. but in particular BA T3.

For some reason I recall T3 G24 is?

As a first post, and in recognition of the fact that lurking here has improved my travel over the last year, here are my POUG highlights:

ET to CE
LHR -> LED £125 (end of Dec 2011)
LHR -> LCA £99 (May 2012) - 767 with flat beds :-)
LCA -> LHR £99 (May 2012)
ATH -> LHR £99 (Aug 2012)

WT to WTP
LHR -> SYD £199 (Oct 2012)
SYD -> LHR £199 (Nov 2012)

The last two came up 72-48 hrs before departure, but what a bonus. Excellent crew on all legs too.

Combined with a few work trips in Y, now happily Silver thanks to POUG. ;-)
