If you cannot get the booking ref beforehand then there is a desk in T5 dedicated to paid upgrades (at least there has been for the last few months). If may be able to get an upgrade to WTP for £120-150. Then cross your fingers for an Op Up to CW. I don't think you can pay for a double upgrade.

sunrisegirl mentioned that upgrading by more than one class wasn't allowed, but I think she was referring specifically to ex-LGW flights.
I know I recently flew SYD-BKK and was offered Y->Y+ for A$350 and Y->J for A$1000.
I took the former but the "double upgrade" was certainly available, although the flight was wide open.

How long does it take for upgrade options to appear in MMB? I thought it was instant ish, but made a booking a few hours ago LHR-GVA and the upgrading options are greyed out, both for this flight and the return from ZRH. The very nice BAEC person I spoke to quoted (for a one-way upgrade) £173 plus £60 as an upgrade fee (due to ticket conditions) but I was rather hoping for a £80-100 CE upgrade to appear in MMB.
I get "We regret that it has not been possible to retrieve the full itinerary details required to enable you to change your booking on ba.com. Please contact your local British Airways office." when clicking on the greyed out option.

The special upgrade offer does not always appear right away, if at all.

Just out of curiosity, did anybody ever get an proactive upgrade offer on a booking made by phone? I have a WT out, WTP + MFU in to LAX coming up and they still haven't offered me an el cheapo upgrade to WFP on the outbound.
Oh, if they do and i take it (and there is availability) can you MFU it?

I have a WT+ back from BOS in late Nov and such an upgrade could really help me get to Silver, so I'd be sorely tempted if the points posted as J

Yes you would get J miles and points I believe. If they do not show then you need to either email or call BA.

Although I paid for revenue flights - and only MFU'd the return leg from WT+ to CW - MMB says I can't upgrade a "redemption flight."
I just tried to call BA Customer Services to enquire as to whether this is right. The lady said I should be able to pay for upgrades to WT+ outbound, however before she came back with a price I was cut off

I suspect if I try and do this over the phone they may come back with a silly price so I may just try my luck and wait until I get to the airport.

LHR-BUD, GBP125 at OLCI on a t/a ticket.
One interesting bug when your return is under 24 hours. The upgrade will appear for both sectors when you open OLCI for the outbound, but this seems to be your only opportunity to u/g the return on line.

Has anyone been offered an upgrade to CE at OLCI for flights between LHR and DME? If so, what has been the cost?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Still nothing, but I have already decided that the 'upgrade' from WT (29A) to WTP (any seat) is probably not worth any money. I will take a freebee though, unless I wind up in a middle seat in WTP.
