LHR-LGW Connection - Baggage Transfer

Hello BA Forum: Just a quick question - I'm going from the US to Asia via London and have one of those lovely LHR-LGW connections. If I check my bag in at DFW, will I have to pick it up at LHR and take it w/ me to LGW or does BA handle it behind the scenes. I'm guessing it's the former, but just wanted to be sure.

Thanks!

No, unfortunately you have to collect your bags at LHR and take them with you to LGW.

Afraid not - you have to schlep them over yourself. Here's the party line "You must collect all your baggage and take it with you to the next airport."

I had a sneaking suspicion that that'd be the case. Thanks for the info. Might just stick to carryon and avoid the trouble - - my routing is pretty lopsided on this one.

Thanks again!
