I suspect that some are put off 64K by online comments about it being near the toilet, galley and stairs, and some others don't like the closed-in feeling and avoid it for that reason. These factors work in favour of those of us who like 64K and know that the online comments are not borne out in reality.

No, but as nux says 64K is not available for purchase by those who can't pre-allocate for free. (It looks like 63AB, 63JK and 64AB are the current purchasable upper deck seats, where that is allowed at all.)

Of course, before that there was a time when no upper deck seats could be purchased by those who did not get free pre-allocation.

From: 63J/K and 64A/B/J/K
To: 63 A/B/J/K 64A/B
Also passengers who had paid for those seats got shuffled around the same time as the change, which caused much distress for those who had paid for a certain CW seat and weren't happy with being moved to another CW seat.
64J/K -> 64A/B
64 A/B -> 63J/K
63 J/K -> 63A/B

Interesting stuff. I acquired pretty quickly so it was never an issue again.
Not that it matters on tomorrow's flight as UUA availability came up and now I'm in 1A. ^

Hi,
could someone confirm whether UD 64A gets released 24 hours before departure since a cot seat or not?
Tks! :-)

And anyone who wants check what the current position is simply needs to start a dummy booking for a flight far into the future, put in a name for a non-member of any FF scheme, and then click through into seat selection to see what's on offer on the UD.

Upper Deck 747 seats left (I want a window because I need to catch up on some sleep even with a day time flight) are 60A, 61A, 63A, 63K.
Any of them better or worse? Currently I am in 63A.

Don't you mean over 64B and 64J?
For those who don't know this, getting out of 63A or 63K without stepping over 64B and 64J involves sliding forward between the seat and the cabin sidewall towards the emergency exit. Various SWMBOs are said to have perfected this manoeuvre, but FTers clearly have a taste for lithe women.
Personally, I'd stay with 63A too rather than move further forward.

Thanks for all the replies. Will pick 63K (seat next to it still shows empty and its a weekday flight). Will report back if I can squeeze out (5'10" and 165 pounds)
