I don't find the bathroom or galley in F particularly disruptive from 1A... it's not as though either is right next to the seat. What I do like about 1A is that the personal coat closet is much bigger, and indeed you can keep a small bag inside it on the floor (eliminating the need to get into the overhead bins during the flight). If changing into pyjamas, there's also room for all your clothing, which I wouldn't necessarily count on in the other seats' closets.
I've been in 1A and 2A and I personally would pick 1A whenever available.

I normally see it 72 hours before departure, however it seems pot luck whether you can reserve the seat or whether the web site will just error right up to departure....

Also bear in mind it may already have been pre assigned to a Status Card holder, so it may not become available at all

Because for the vast majority of people who've never even considered the notion that there may be 'good' and 'bad' seats in F, there's a certain cachet in bagging 1A.
I certainly was tickled the first time I bagged 1A in a premium cabin.
And Mr W has decided he'd like it on our next trip... since he's not gold, I've had to take it on the understanding we'll trade on board and I can have 'his' 2A

Nice to have 1a on your boarding pass!
Do you think 1a is nothing special say compared to 3a?
