Solo travellers, 2K if you're right handed or 2A if you're left handed

Applies to 744 where 1A/K are relatively close together and 777 where row 2 is back from the front galley. Only snobs worry about having 1A on their boarding card

It is easier to handle your drinks that way and prevents accidents after you've had a few. Matters to clumsy folk. Though, if you're really fussy about being on the sunny side, it depends which direction you're flying

I have just read stevie-d report, very interesting, and the photo of his daughter sitting in the buddy seat fills me with horrah, i am a slim middle aged person, and i will struggle to sit in it, unless i sit on the edge of the buddy seat pulled out.

In the CCR now. Decided to stick with 1A because I've never flown in that seat and I have 3 more upcoming flights on the 744 in either 2A or K. If you're on BA 113, be sure to say hi!

First seating quandry... We're currently in 4K/5K next week on a B747. No window seats further forward available, but 4E/F and 5E/F are both free. Would you switch or stick with where we are?

Personally, I would suggest that you move to 5EF, where the OH and I have always been happy. Flying soon in 4EF because 5EF has been taken. At least you can sit together and chat.

If you are happy to sit together for meals and not otherwise, stay where you are.

YMMV.

And we prefer 4EF to 5EF because the latter have more noise and light disturbance from the galley.

My companion would never forgive me if we were in 4K and 5K (or similar) if 4EF were available.

F went out 6/14 today and 1K was empty! So I had the whole front of the plane to myself...greatly enjoyed 1A. Will write a TR in the next few days...was a long day of travel, my CDG-LHR was delayed, then BA 113 got in nearly 2 hours late as well.

777

2 travelling together on BA 0297 from LHR to ORD on 777. Don't need to sit together, prefer windows, and appears we have a decent shot at NF based on tracking. 2K and 3K good choices? Only other option I've considered is 1K and 2K. Thanks

I personally would avoid 1K on the 777 from previous experience. You end up looking straight on the bulkhead and it can be a bit claustrophobic in comparison to rows 2 and 3.

Assuming 3K is like 3A, you have to lean forward for a good view out the windows due to the alignment.

I would avoid 1A/K too but mainly for the risk of disturbance from noise (clattering of equipment and Galley FM) or light from the galleys right in front of you.

2 and 3 are the better rows on a 777.

Definitely try to get row 2 on a 777. Near the front but not get disturbed by the galley noise.
