New First seat: First Review

The secret place:

EDIT:

Overview of seat in bed mode - it certainly looks more spacious. Whether that's camera angle I don't know, but it must be helped by the now recessed arms.

http://www.businesstraveller.com/news/ba-first is the teaser article.

The main one is: http://www.businesstraveller.com/new...-airways-first

You have to register, but it's free.

I notice there's no Krug on the table! But, the wardrobe is a nice addition, hopefully this will stop us pestering crew and give those in 1A/K a bit more privacy.

Apparently the table flips up and back with the touch of a button - hopefully no one accidently knocks it mid-meal.

Overall, it looks like quite a nice futuristic swish design! But, as everyone says it is more of an evolution, than revolution.

 That is Charles Heidsieck NV. Nice enought but CE fare at best!

Looks good to me, and picture in picture to watch the skymap someone has listened^

Is the light for the seat mounted on top of the champagne bottle? BA seem to have a thing for putting lights on top of unconventional objects ;)

Personally I like the look they've gone for. Classic and understated. But I'm not a fan of all the bling.

BT have just posted the seat width....

Upright it's the same width, but reclined it is wider - going from 19 inches up to 32 inches because of the side arms reclining (although, admittedly, I can't recall what currently happens with the arms in First).

Agree - the back of the seats looks similar to the material used in CX F.

The wardrobe looks a little cheap - an interiro light would have given it a more lux finish.

Can't wait to try it out

Do we know if there is still a buddy seat?

Yes there is.

Now, if BA would have First on GIG-LHR I'd try this in a flash. Anything to avoid the close contact and poor storage of the current CW solution!

I wasn't aware all the B777 aircrafts will have the new First cabin before any of the B747-400*

747 might not see new First until 2011! Glad I'm booked on a 777 now ^

Not sure I like. The window looks like a gimmick and the cabin appears very stark, more so than Club. Like the additional width when sleeping (current arm rests are fixed) though I hope the armrest recline isn't linked to the seat recline as it is with NGCW.

I'll have a thorough poke around in March (or earlier if the op-up gods smile on me).
