OT: ESTA

I need help. I can't remember for the life of me whether I had applied for an ESTA.

Questions are:
- was i suposed to have received an email confirmation? if so, what keywords should I use to search for it, can't find it at all in my email

- what happens if I apply, when I have already applied?

that's it for now..... TIA

I had the same problem and did it again. I managed to get into America ok.

I believe at the moment you do not have to do it until some date later this year.

I am sure other can help but like I say I had the same problem.

Just apply again. You do need one. I lost my paper record and applied again you just get issued with a new updated ESTA.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 3G: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7D11 Safari/528.16)

I lost my last one, then found it at the weekend just as I was in the process of completing a new one.

It clearly states you don't HAVE to bring a printed copy with you, so, if you've done one before, and your passport number is the same , then you SHOULD be okay for trips in the 2 year validity period.
However it "recommends" you update your US destination information for subsequent uses. Add this stunning lack of clarity to the fact the green I-94s are still required, as is separate APIS, the ESTA isn't emailed and seems to be deliberately designed to print in a half assed manner and you're left to wonder what the point is.

As I've said before, write the reference number and date on the "emergency contacts" page in your PP - simples!
