BA Ski Carriage

Since BA changed their rules and charged for ski carriage I have become a little confused.

We're flying WTP (MAN-LHR-YVR) and are each allowed 2 x 23kg. Can we check a a ski/board bag as part of our allowance?

A ski/board bag is clearly over the maximum dimensions for 'standard bags' but seems to be ok according to the Sporting Equipment Section of the website.

If I have 1 suitcase plus 1 ski bag, will this cause me to incur an excess baggage fee?

I have tried ringing them but, as you know, the phones at BA are rather hot at the moment.

1 x ski bag, 1 x regular hold bag will not cause excess baggage fees. Did it for our Christmas trip to Whistler

Have fun - the snow was great!

Thanks, Whistler is where we're going and, thanks to your advice, we have £80 each to spend on Jagerbombs in Longhorns!

What advice was that? I could use some of those...

I simply confirmed that the skis/board would count as part of the baggage allowance, not be excess baggage....I didn't force them to spend the saved fees on alcohol :p:D
