It was always going to be a vote for a strike. BASSA have unthinking support from the majority of cabin crew. The real question is how it will convert to action.

Indeed - this seems crazy, like turkeys voting for Christmas.

I cannot see how strike action will do anything other than damage the company's position, which will just result in more cost cutting and redundancies......

Ouch - a 12 day strike is going to hurt. Better hope Willie has the lawyers on it to somehow prevent it, or is willing to come back to the negotiating table pronto....

One presumes the unions have opted for an elongated period of action in the knowledge that it is more likely to garner a response from BA management, as opposed to a series of 1-2 day walkouts?

Twelve days. How very seasonal!

History suggests the strike probably won't actually happen, but the fact that I'm flying away on TG rather than BA saves me an awful lot of worry (as welll as around 3000 - the real reason I booked with them).
