OT: ANA asks passengers to relieve themselves
Apologies if this is too OT, but some off us discussed MOL's spurious (i.e. publicity seeking) suggestion of paying to use onboard toilets.

Just don't tell MOL.
All Nippon Airways is asking passengers to empty their bladders before boarding a flight with the Japanese airline.
For a month, the carrier is experimenting with asking people at the departure gate to make a last trip to the bathroom.
The latest attempt by an airline to reduce weight on board, and therefore save money because less fuel will be needed, has left ANA open to ridicule.
However, the airline’s North America spokeswoman Jean Saito said it was a serious project. “If the flight is lighter, we use less gasoline, which is good for the environment.”
ANA hopes that over 30 days, the weight saved through people visiting the bathroom before take-off will save five tonnes of carbon emissions. Apparently, if 150 people relieve themselves on an aircraft, it would amount to 140 lbs of waste.

Probably be outweighed by requests for more water bottles to drink once on board!
Here's an idea...
If you book your tickets early, pop down to the airport and get yourselves on the scales and again when you check-in. For every pound you loose, we'll take off 1% off the ticket price! And no gorging on a meal before you first weigh yourself!
Surely that will attract some government grants to tick some health and environmental boxes at the same time!

MOL could stick ticket stamping devices in the toilets near to the gates and then add on a £20 not going to the toilet fee if your boarding pass hasn't been stamped in the last 15 minutes.

And the fee to exit the lavatory would be GBP 3.
