Any quick free miles on BA?

I really hate to post this type of question. However, my son is underage and cannot earn miles by normal means. I need a free way to earn some amount of miles just to keep the account active. Anyone know of a solution to this problem? Thanks.

Get a BA credit card with a sign up bonus

Buy them online

Make a small purchase through shopping.ba.com and hope the miles post in time (if UK based)

Credit a Hilton stay, do a cheapo 1-day Avis rental etc

Transfer some Amex Membership Rewards points

Transfer some hotel points from Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, Priority Club - assuming your surnames match it should go through

I think (think, note) that booking a reward flight and then immediately cancelling it counts as activity as well

I thought this thread was to do with the LHR-JFK flights in F for taxes only using the promo code "outfornowt"

If you are Silver or above then add your son to a Household account, which would protect the miles all the time you hold status. If you are blue then what Raffles says....

If you've got a month or more before expiry, like Raffles suggest, buy a CD you're after from CDWOW via the eShop.

If its less, I'd just buy 1000 miles or whatever the minimum is from BA.com

You can create a Household account, even if you're a blue member.

But miles are only protected if you have status, otherwise you still need activity for each member in the HHA at least once every 36 months.
