Decoding Expedia Fare codes

Can someone help me figure out what this means?

From: London (LON-All Airports)
To: Warsaw, Poland (WAW-Okecie)
Fare Basis Code: NGOBA

From: Wroclaw, Poland (WRO-Strachowice)
To: London (LON-All Airports)
Fare Basis Code: DEUNBA

I need to get to Wroclaw on the 10th and I am looking at trying to get some miles and maybe even a Tier point!!

Outbound is a cheap economy ticket - N class, no changes, no upgrades no refunds.

Inbound is Club ticket, no changes, no upgrades and no refunds, but TP earning.

First letter in any fare basis is the booking class. The "BA" refers to fact that it is a BA fare (non-endorseable, unless rules otherwise permit). The N in the inbound fare refers to its non-changeable status. Changeable fares have a C instead of N. The rules governing the permitted changes (and any fees) will be set out in the fare rules.

Top Job -

Thanks for that - it makes sense now.

Just to add that NGOBA is probably the sale fare in the current sale: So it probably must be booked today (27 September) as it's the last day of the sale.

Edited to add: It is. But the next fare is non-seasonal. NEUNBA, which is only about £6 more, round-trip.

Yes, good point. Here's the relevant bit of the fare rule.

EFF/EXP
TICKET MAY BE ISSUED ON/AFTER 31AUG05 AND MUST BE ISSUED BY 27SEP05. 1OCT05 IS THE FIRST DATE THAT TRAVEL MAY COMMENCE.
If you miss it, next fare up (assuming N availability) is NEUNBA which is £7 (return) more.

I would call myself sad, actually. Seeing the fare code NGOBA and immediately recognising it as a sale fare before looking it up! :D
