BA CityFlyer Catering Thread [2025]

Breakfast on the 7am LCY-ZRH yesterday. It was bland , the bacon was mostly fat, and I ended up eating less than half. As always on Cityflyer, the bread roll was excellent.
I should have done like the people behind me who were on the champagne, but it was a bit early for me!

It certainly doesn’t do any harm! But these dishes are reasonably forgiving as the omelette fillings and sauces have a good moisture content and there’s no sausage to bring up to safe temperature.

I'm quite fussy and wondered if anyone had advice which special meals would give me the best chance of having something I can eat?

Outbound is band 2 lunch which seems to be salmon or halloumi. I would be fine with halloumi, if I preorder the vegetarian meal would I be likely to get that or something completely different?

Inbound is band 2 breakfast. If I want to avoid egg and fish, what would my best bet be? I wondered about hindu vegetarian?

VLML cold lunch tends to be couscous with asparagus, houmous and red pepper.

AVML breakfast should not contain eggs. You’ll also be safe with a vegan or Jain meal: vegan is a plate of sauteed mushrooms, potato and onion and the Jain meal is porridge with blueberries.

I'll be flying BA CityFlyer for the first time to NCE in March in Economy, departing at 07:40. Just to check what's being served onboard - a cup of water, small sandwich and cereal bar, am I correct?

Usually there's only a small packet of snack and small bottle of water when I fly BA ET from LHR, even for a flight of similar duration.

It will be a sandwich, choice of cereal bar or crisps, and a full complimentary bar service. Departures pre-9.30 will not be offered crisps and alcohol won’t be offered proactively but if you ask the crew once they have completed the service they will be happy to oblige. Also there are usually extra sandwiches left at the end of the service, don’t be afraid to ask.

You will get a tray with one of the band 3 Euro Traveller sandwiches, Tunnocks teacake, cheese and biscuits, chocolate, dried mango and crisps plus the usual drinks.

… and this is what I received. No sandwich :(
The wooden knife was barely strong enough to cut through the chunk of cheddar, but overall most welcome for an ambient meal. The raspberry brownie square was absolutely delicious!

The squashed Tunnocks teacake can join the United Airlines smashed croissant in my airline meal repertoire! :p
